Powder Coating
Powder coating is a type of coating that is applied as free-flowing, dry powder. The main
difference between a conventional liquid paint and a powder coating is that the powder coating
doesn't require a solvent to keep the binder and filler parts in a liquid suspension form. Our
coatings are applied electrostatically and then cured to allow it to flow and form a skin. It
is usually used to create a hard finish that is tougher than conventional paint. Powder coating
is mainly used for the coating of metals.
All of our powder coatings are available in different gloss levels and include matt, semi-matt,
semi-gloss and gloss. Satin is also available, but depending on the powder manufacturer the
gloss levels can vary between semi-matt and semi-gloss. Different effects are also available in:
Smooth
Leatherette
Texture
Hammer
Stipple
Metallic
Suitability of different types of powder:
Polyester Powder Coatings: These coatings are ideal for outdoor use where UV
stability and weather resistance are a priority.
Epoxy Polyester (EPOL) Coatings: This finish provides the optimum combination of
decorative and protective properties for interior applications. These products are typically
used on office furniture, machine tools and shop fittings.
Epoxy Coatings: These products give excellent resistance to wear and damage
together with oustanding resistance to a wide range of chemicals. They are ideally suited
for internal components. They should not be used for external use.
