Stove Enamelling

Stove enamelling is a wet-paint process that uses specialised stoving paints. The paint is
applied by spraying before curing in an oven at a specific temperature and for a specific
period of time. The result is a high quality, corrosion resistant and durable finish.
Stove enamelling is typically used on metal components for a wide range of applications
including manufacturing, retail goods and the defence industry.

Defence Coatings: Defence standards are available on the UK Defence Standardization
website (www.dstan.mod.uk). At Colourtec we are able to apply coatings to defence standards
including Infrared Reflecting topcoats (IRR) and Chemical Agent Resistant Coating (CARC).

Stoving Primers: Typically available in mid grey and white for application to most
metals. Used where a higher quality, longer lasting finish is required e.g. Defence Coatings.

Epoxy Coatings: A high quality stoving finish containing epoxy resin to provide good
chemical and corrosion resistance in extreme environmental conditions.

General Stove Enamelling: A smoother superior finish to powder coating can be achieved
which is tough, mar resistant and melamine reinforced for improved durability.

Gloss Levels and Finishes: Most gloss levels are catered for with stove enamelling
including matt, eggshell, semi-gloss and gloss. Different effects can also be achieved which
include smooth, spatter, metallic and hammer.
